THRUWAY AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
The New York State Thruway Authority today announced the appointment of David Malone as the Thruway Authority’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Malone takes on the role after the departure of Matthew Howard, who previously served as the Thruway Authority’s CFO before moving to the Division of Budget this spring.
“David Malone has served with the Thruway Authority for 30 years and has the experience and knowledge to serve as our new Chief Financial Officer,” Thruway Authority Interim Executive Director Frank G. Hoare said. “The Thruway Authority is committed to maintaining a sound fiscal footing, and Mr. Malone and his dedicated team will continue our efforts to provide a balanced budget and meet the financial needs of our operation.”
As CFO, Mr. Malone is responsible for overseeing the Department of Finance and Accounts with responsibility for the Authority’s budget and long-range financial plan, financial administration, debt management and investments.
Mr. Malone has worked for the Authority since 1993 and most recently served as Director of Accounting and Disbursements overseeing financial reporting and administration. Previous to that, Mr. Malone held positions in Budget, Audit and Risk Management.
Mr. Malone received a bachelor’s degree from Siena College and a Master of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
