Important Traffic Camera Troubleshooting Information

Our traffic cameras require that your browser report referrer information correctly. This is the only feature which requires referrer information, the rest of our website does not require it. By reporting your referrer information, we are able to control the refresh rates as these images are downloaded from our servers, thereby managing the load on our servers.

If you are unable to view the traffic cameras or experience problems frequently, it might be due to one of the following:

  1. The use of a firewall product from companies like Symantec (Norton), McAfee, Zone Labs and others.
  2. The use of privacy control software.

If You are Using a Firewall

Our traffic camera images will not display properly if your firewall product does not pass the browser referrer information correctly or blocks the referrer information. For example, by default, Norton Internet Security (NIS) and Norton Personal Firewall (NPF) blocks this information. NIS and NPF can be configured to correctly pass the referrer information while viewing the Traffic Camera pages. Please configure your firewall product to correctly pass the referrer information while viewing our traffic cameras.

If You are Using Privacy Control Software

If you are using privacy control software that does not pass the browser referrer information correctly or blocks the referrer information, these cameras will not display properly. Please configure your software to correctly pass the referrer information while viewing our traffic cameras.
